Our Cattle

Our Limousin-Angus (Lim-Flex) cattle have no added hormones or antibiotics. They are grass/pasture raised and then grain finished for the last 90-120 days. We are involved in every step of the process from birth through finishing and processing.  Since we are also crop farmers, our cattle are fed high quality feed that we often produce ourselves. We also consult with a beef nutritionist who has a Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition. He provides advice on feed rations and ingredients that help us to produce healthy, happy, and tasty cattle. Our cattle are finished out around 1400 lbs live weight. We also micro-chip our cattle with an EID (Electronic Identification tag). This allows us to keep track of every detail about each individual animal.

We pride ourselves in transparency and traceability. Upon request, we can provide our customers with the information on their beef that would include things like: place of birth, birth weight, and any vaccinations it was given. Our Limousin-Angus cattle are raised for their docile and maternal nature. It makes them perfect for raising healthy calves. They also receive top ranks in tenderness, marbling, flavor, and quality grade. Our cattle spend their summers in the Kansas Flint hills in open pasture. They are humanely treated and we strive for a low stress, limited handling environment for our cattle. They receive swift and appropriate medical care only when essential. Most importantly, we really do treat our cattle with love and kindness. They often get ear scratches and treats from our children, and we even name all the new calves. These animals are like family to us.
